FEBRUARY 2012 February has gotten off to a busy judging start! Amy has already judged two Full Gallup Events (1st and 8th), the Sporting Days event on the 4th, The Ark on the 11th, and she'll be at Paradise Farm on the 17th. Gunnar Ostergaard taught last weekend (11-12) at Fair Lane Farm. It was a cold weekend, but the attendees prevailed and look for Amy and King to make their Grand Prix debut soon. On February 19, Amy will be giving a clinic at Doodlehill Farm and the 24-25, the McElroy group will be attending its first show of the season--SCDCTA Charleston Dressage. Expected to compete are Laurens, Caroline, Lisi, Valerie, Dru and Amy, who with King are looking to make their Grand Prix start. Please be sure to check out the 2012 Dressage in the Carolinas Omnibus. Guess who's on the cover??!! Of course Holly and Festina were bestowed the well-deserved honor. Holly Spencer & Festina--the consumate adult amateur competitor. As well as maintaining her own farm, Holly is the owner/operator of the Saddle Doctor of Aiken, SC. Throughout the years she has garnered many Region 3 Championships with Festina--a mare she has brought through the levels herself with the help of teacher/coach Amy McElroy. In addition, Holly has been a major source of support in the development of the Aiken Dressage shows. We thank her for her years of support as well as her sportsmanship. SPECIAL NOTE: - My apologies to all who rode in the October Camden Dressage show--this update somehow went MIA!
- It was a great group that attended the show--Linda, Dru, Janet, and Diane.
- It was an exciting weekend for Linda, who had a chance to celebrate her 60th birthday among friends!
- Dru and Gallahad made their Intermediare debut and had whopping scores of 67% and 69%!!!
- Janet took her fabulous young horse, Demos to his first recognized show and they earned some very nice qualifying scores.
- Diane got her wish of getting two scores in the 60s at Second level, and...
- Diana took Florian out in the PSG and earned a score in the high 60s, going towards her Silver medal.
- Amy was extremely pround of the group as usual! And this proves that some news is better late than never!
